It is now over five years ago when a good buddy came to Fabian Müller with the idea of building an old Shovel. It should be a rigid frame from the 50s, which does not have to meet common standards such as turn signals or regulations for the exhaust. In addition, two huge big-spoke wheels from TTS, all raw, without big bells and whistles. So much for the base. When this chassis stood on the lifting platform of the Müllers, one could already guess that this would be a cool machine. And although Müller Motorcycle AG usually specializes in the development and production of parts, this project tickled the fingers of everyone involved.
So at some point Fabian had the daring idea "Man, with this part we could take part in the Biker Built Off in Bad Salzuflen". No sooner said than done, but at some point in the course of time Fabian got it into his head that a Biker Built Off bike absolutely needs a paint job. And so it was decided without further ado to build not just one bike, but two. For the Biker Built Off the "DEEP THROAT" was built and for said buddy the "HILLBILLY RACER" presented here.
The name is quite program with this bike. "Hillbilly" describes, among other things, "a free, unbowed citizen who lives in the mountains, doesn't have much to say, dresses the way he knows how, talks the way he knows how, drinks whiskey when he gets it, and blasts through the neighborhood as he pleases." You don't shoot through the neighborhood today like you did back in the Wild West, but the association is quite appropriate with this exhaust. Due to the non-existent restriction, it consists only of a manifold with two 3D-milled panels at the end - nothing else. The sound that comes out of it can probably imagine every Harley enthusiast.
Less to do with understatement is the engine. The overhauled Shovelhead was stroked to 1,600ccm and brings decent steam. Which you first have to get running with the kicker, because an electric starter has no place on such a bike, of course. The rocker boxes are a custom brass build from Chopper Kulture. The same goes for the front and rear lights. Brass was used here a lot, but it sets the accents on such a raw bike.
For the handlebars, individual plate segments were welded together, the electronics as well as the throttle and clutch controls were relocated to the inside, and the whole thing was pressed into a downward-drawn shape. Here the cockpit is absolutely clean - a feature that is easy to implement for production motorcycles with Müller's inboard cables. Even the lever for the front brake is missing. This is controlled via a control valve together with the rear brake via the right foot lever.
Speaking of foot levers. Fabian Müller came up with something very special for these. For the first time, he used aluminum and brass together in one part. Subsequently, 3D grooves were milled and handles and detents made of solid brass were mounted. Anyone who wants to find a series part on this bike will have to search a long time. Because here almost everything was designed, made and adapted in the smallest and finest handwork. Even the open belt drive, the brakes for front and rear wheel - together with the brake discs, the pushrod covers, the camshaft cover, the primary cover, the speedometer housing and many other small highlights such as the spark plug holder.
For the sheet metal parts Sebastian Attenberger from Traditional Motors was on board, who also made the sheet metal parts of the DEEP THROAT. But simply doing everything twice was not an option. The tank was made a bit bigger, the oil tank was moved to the rear fender, and the seat is a special construction made of spring steel that springs when riding and can be locked in place when stationary. It doesn't look particularly comfortable at first glance, but Alex, the bike's owner, swears that it's super comfortable and that even long distances are no problem for him. Well, this just shows that a real hillbilly really needs neither bells and whistles nor comfort.

Our parts have several goals: they should make the bike more beautiful, more driving fun and also provide more safety. Achieve a great effect with small changes. With little effort, create a unique one-off from a standard bike. How this succeeds, our latest conversion project "Oceanic" shows once again in an excellent way.
It was given a new face with our Bob Style triple clamp. The fork bridge is made of solid, best aluminum and stretches the chassis with 5° rake forward in length. Our driving test at the Dekra proves that the driving behavior and curve stability are optimally maintained. Many customers even describe to us that the handling and cornering behavior is improved even more and you thus have even more fun on the road. No wonder, after all, in this part over 30 years of experience in triple clamp construction.
Of course, our aluminum risers and the internal throttle cable (incl. parts approval!) may not be missing here. We have also installed our internal clutch for show purposes. The clutch is controlled by a rotary movement analogous to the throttle cable, which eliminates the clutch lever. This results in a maximum clean look in the handlebar area. The Power Clutch facilitates the clutching additionally, so that this clutch variant is also drivable. The clutch is gladly converted back to "normal", so with clutch lever!
The finish on the handlebars are our aluminum grips (for internal throttle cable) and handlebar end indicators and mirrors, as well as control panels from motogadget. So you can see that despite internal cables this all can be installed additionally.
The rests were comfortably moved forward by 280mm with our steel footrest system. The 6-piston brake "beast" and floating brake disc provide the best deceleration values and braking power.
To make the good piece even more striking, we have installed a 5.5x18" rear wheel rim from TTS with 200 wide tires. With rear, air suspension and seat shell from Thunderbike. The seat itself is custom made by our upholsterer Märkl. The blue stitching perfectly matches the subtle, yet eye-catching paint job by Airvolution from Austria. For the license plate, we again opted for a holder from Delta Parts. This has long been our 1st choice for all our bike conversions. Proven quality and shapely optics stand out here.
Now one or the other may still wonder what it has to do with the name. Our bikes are not only objects for us, but also tell a little story. The "Oceanic" was the largest passenger ship in the world at the end of the 19th century. It originated from the shipping company "White Star Line", which became famous above all for its later ship "Titanic". The credo of the builder Thomas Ismays for the "Oceanic" was that "only the very best" was used here. And so we have followed this credo with our "Oceanic", and also built only the very best.
Nevertheless, her price is within an affordable range and she also has a decisive advantage: she cannot sink so easily.

Probably the biggest challenge for us so far was the participation in the "Biker Built of" in December 2015 in Bad Salzuflen. Until now, the focus of Müller Motorcycle AG has always been on parts development and production. But with this, we entered the realms of the customizing scene. For eight months we slaved like idiots, carved out all the parts, right down to the screws, by machine and by hand, tinkered and fiddled until our heads were spinning. On December 6 at the CUSTOMBIKE SHOW, the result was clear. With only 7 votes difference we have lost narrowly against Yuri Shif. He has created a truly spectacular bike with his "Ducky". But the close result shows us that we as the "underdog" have done a great job and we are all very proud of that.
For us, this project was a rare milestone in our company and family history. Something that we will not forget so quickly and will always have a special significance. Therefore, we also wanted to offer this bike a very special stage and capture this extraordinary event in great pictures.
A special photo shoot was planned. A special location - and a special model, because with this theme a beautiful woman can not be missing, right? The search for a model alone was more than difficult. I was all the happier when Olga Kaminska (www.olgakaminska.com) agreed and we were able to find a date. She has already graced the covers of the Polish "Playboy" and other glossy magazines and has worked as an advertising face for international companies. The photography was done by Susanna Schaffry (www.schaffry.de) , with whom we have already worked together on photos for our catalog, so we knew that we had a top photographer on our hands.
So now I'm especially happy to finally present you the pictures of our shoot! And please excuse that it took so long!
Best regards
Eva

                 Report from EASYRIDERS 04/2015
Müller Motorcycle is known above all for the finest custom parts. And how do the Müllers know which parts should look like what? And how do you best publicize your own parts program? That's right, the owners and employees of the Bavarian family business almost all prefer two-wheeled, motorized locomotion. This means that enthusiasm for what they do is a given. The bikes that are put on the wheels here are not just handsome parts carriers that are used to tour trade shows and events, but are actually ridden. At the latest then one knows whether one has done a good job with any new part.
Müller Motorcycle is an old-established company that is already being run by the second generation. While Werner Müller puts the scepter more and more into the hands of his children, they continue to run the company in his spirit. What they bring with them, in addition to the enthusiasm for motorcycles instilled with their mother's milk, is above all a bulging sack full of new ideas. If we talk about a special company philosophy, then this has always included, above all, that no part goes into series production that does not meet the company's own, extremely high quality standards and that one does not want to have on one's own personal bike. If there is such a thing as a recipe for the company's decades of success, then it is probably best found in this principle. Quick fixes and half-baked parts that are pushed onto the market with a view to quick sales but do not meet the company's own standards are not to be found at the Bavarians. The catalog of home-made products is small, but all the finer for it.
The last bikes that were put on the wheels in the Bavarian Königsmoos were Dynas. For the dewy 2015 season, therefore, it should definitely be a Softail. More precisely, a Breakout, which is currently one of the best-selling of this series. Those who guess that this choice was pure calculation are certainly right to a large extent. Of course, you don't choose a slow seller as a display bike if you want to demonstrate your parts program and the possibilities of customizing. But Müller understandably also has a certain enthusiasm for this successful model, and after all, they don't just want to show the part, they also want to ride it, as mentioned at the beginning.
So let's take a closer look at what the enthusiasts have done with Harley's top seller. Even though Müller Customparts manufactures in small batches, for them a custom bike is more than just the sum of the parts bolted on or replaced. However, they did not want to make any changes to the frame. Rather, the sheet metal work is crucial to the later look. The tank and fender were realized by Sebastian Attenberger according to Fabian Müller's ideas. Under the company name "Traditional-Motors", he pimps American classic cars as well as hot rods and was happy to accept the challenge of the three-dimensional shapes consisting of low-lying and raised, curved surfaces. So the new line was to be significantly sportier, but still cite classic shapes. For this purpose, Öhlins dampers were combined with the company's own triple clamp. The latter, by the way, is sold exclusively through Parts World. Ultimately, however, the front end looks particularly clean due to the internally routed throttle cables, as a result of which the two Bowden cables were routed in the handlebar tube. For this purpose, Müller has recently developed a pre-assembled complete kit, with which the clean-up work is conceivably simple. Risers and grips from the company's own parts program complete the desired look.
The rear end is a stylistic borrowing from the fifties. Suspended solo seat and swinging rear fender were typical of bobbers from that era. In the end, the only thing that remains to be clarified is where the bobber got its name. Halestorm is an American rock band and somehow everyone involved quickly agreed that this is exactly the right name for Müller's interpretation of a Breakout.

                  MOVIE STARS
Report from EASYRIDERS 06/14
What happens when someone is totally into a Dyna, but doesn't want a 1:1 copy of the original. For the team at Müller Motorcycles, that's no problem; they simply make a counterpart in black and can thus also accommodate one or two of the customer's special requests. The result is unequal twins, neither of which can deny their origins.
Müller Motorcycles is certainly one of the dinosaurs in the custom bike industry in Europe. The company, which was founded in the eighties by Werner Müller, owes its good reputation to countless custom parts that have been developed and produced here in recent years.
In the meantime, the second generation is waiting in the wings to bring a breath of fresh air to the tradition-steeped family business. The constellation could not be better, because while Werner Müller can now concentrate fully on the development of new products, daughter Eva Maria, as a business economist, is responsible for marketing, among other things. Son Fabian leads the production team as master craftsman and design engineer.
With a lot of energy and heart blood a first image film BUILT WITH PASSION was produced in spring about Müller Motorcycles, which is to convey above all the enthusiasm with which parts and whole custom bikes are produced here. The focus is, how could it be otherwise, the bikes from the own production. With the "Chica Bonita" we have already introduced you to a protagonist in 2013 and on these pages now follow two more main characters from the Müller Motorcycles Movie.
What at first glance appears to be a mismatched pair, reveals at second glance that the two have more in common than a Dyna model as a basis. The possibilities for building two completely different bikes from the company's own catalog range alone are almost limitless. Especially since the company from Bavaria has fully equipped workshops, including numerous, state-of-the-art CNC milling machines.
However, this order was not about creating an individual one-off piece, but rather, as mentioned at the beginning, the brief was to put exactly such a bike as the white one on the wheels. Anyone who knows the Müller's also knows that you haven't ended up in a copy shop here. And even their own bikes are not copied one-to-one here. On top of that, they know from experience that the longer a customer deals with his or her personal project, the more individual wishes are conjured out of the hat.
One thing that both have in common right from the start is the limited budget. Of course, with Müller, for a lot of money, you can expect a lot. The art consisted this time, however, with very few bugs to realize an appealing conversion. In addition, both bikes should be rideable and have maximum everyday usability. Just at this point Müller Bikes wait with a small, almost invisible detail, which facilitates the operation in stop and go traffic just as the constant shifting on winding mountain passages and country roads. The Power Clutch , which Werner Müller developed years ago, significantly reduces the forces required to operate the clutch lever. An aching left hand after extended tours should thus be a thing of the past.
At the front end, both have another common feature that you should look at a little closer. The triple clamps were milled from the full block and provided with additional sleeves , which provide a much more solid appearance. The risers were also made on our own CNC mill and raise the Fehling steering tube by 50mm. For those looking for the throttle cable, Werner Müller has developed a complete kit that makes it relatively easy to route this into the handlebar tube. And of course, this feature may not be missing on these bikes.
On both, Bitubo shocks provide ride comfort and the right ground contact. Likewise, a crisply short tail section from Penz Custombikes was installed on both, which was once again adapted by Müller. A treat for the eyes and ears is also the Kess-Tech exhaust system with electronic adjustment mechanism. Via servo motors, the volume level is thus always adjusted to the maximum value prescribed by law. The blowpipes have an EG-ABE and can therefore be used in road traffic with a clear conscience.
The fact that a fresh wind has been blowing at Müller Motorcycles for some time has long been clearly noticeable on the outside. Above all, however, the announcement makes us curious that more custom bikes will be built in Königsmoos, Bavaria, in the future. So we can be curious about what will be rolled in front of our lenses in the future.

Report from EASYRIDERS 10/2014 The name says it all here, as it loosely translates as "beautiful girl. And although the model next to the bike isn't bad either, the name refers more to the bobber next to it. The guys from Müller Motorcycles have equipped it with the very finest parts in order to demonstrate their skills and to be able to extensively test their own parts.
Müller Motorcycles stands for many primarily for numerous accessories and detail solutions in custom bike construction. This is true, of course, and these can be demonstrated much more easily on a living object, or rather on a custom bike, than a catalog ever could. Apart from that, the build probably wasn't done without a great deal of self-interest. Because the guys (and gals) from the Bavarian Königsmoos are, at least as far as motorcycles are concerned, all clearly radiated. A passion for motorcycles and custom bike building is almost a prerequisite for the employees of this family business. Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing the crew live will unreservedly confirm this. Only those who ride and screw themselves also know very well what can be improved and how to design things more beautiful and practical. At some point, for example, one got stuck in stop-and-go traffic. As is so often the case, it didn't take long for the power in the left hand to wear off. The result at the time was the Müller Power Clutch. A simple but effective aid that significantly reduces the clutch forces to be applied. Or the conversion kit, with which the throttle cable can be perfectly relocated in the handlebar tube. (See also the tech report in the October issue of Easyriders)

Let's turn our attention back to the "beauty" pictured here. And again we mean the bike and not the grace, whose contact details we will exceptionally reveal at the end of this article. The idea and the concept for the oven comes from Fabian Müller, we had mentioned that it is a family business ...
The frame comes from Penz Custombikes and was equipped with a Springer fork. And this is where you should take another closer look. The triple clamps are made by Müller. The special feature of the X-Cross bridges is that the 13-degree inclined riser mounts can already be installed very short risers from 50 mm. At the extremely clean handlebar you see so little only because one has mounted here of course the in-house conversion kit for internal throttle cables. So that the clutch cable also disappears at the left end of the handlebar, a prototype for a similar kit was installed. As you can see, Bavaria never sleeps and you can expect another gimmick from Königsmoos soon.

Among the parts that you can find in the hot-off-the-press Müller catalog are the risers, the handlebar grips and fittings as well as the brake system. The stoppers are 6-piston brakes, which are listed under the aptly named Beast. Together with the frame, Penz also supplied the oil tank, as well as the front and rear fenders. The gas tank, on the other hand, was pulled from the shelves of Harley-Davidson and was originally intended to adorn a Sporty. The scrubber also gets the special look of the old days from the wheel combination. At the front rotate 21 inch and in the rear 16 inch Big Spoke wheels.
We could go on for ages listing other details that the Müller crew has installed on the "Chica Bonita". We will refrain from doing so at this point. After all, you can take a look at the fancy pictures for yourselves. But we mentioned at the beginning that we will not withhold the contact details of the model from you and of course we keep our word. It's Eva-Maria, the daughter of the company's founder, who, as befits a family business, is of course working in her parents' business. Forget any thoughts that might end in a relationship of any kind, the lady is already happily engaged. Nevertheless, with her Werner Müller has once again proven that he can not only build good motorcycles ...

Street style triple clamp with braided tubes
Full-floating brake discs, front and rear
Aluminum riser, 50mm
Aluminum grips for internal throttle cable
250mm forward-mounted footrest system
Power-Clutch clutch lightening

Müller "28 Racing " Report from "Dream Machines" 12/11 The older ones among us will still remember that in the 90s there was a Harley-Davidson Sportster Cup, which was held on many race tracks in Europe. Men without nerves raced for glory on modified Sportys according to a strict set of technical rules, where the focus was on the rider and not just the technology. years later Fabian Müller, son of the ex-racer Werner Müller rummaged through old documents and discovered in the corner of his father's barn, an old, dusty Cup Sportster with the number 28. Now it was time to build a new project for various fairs and exhibitions and Fabian was clear, it had to be a Sportster XR 1200. So the project was planned with his race-experienced father, who obviously enjoyed making something even sportier out of a good base and also designed some prototypes for the new Sportys. In the meantime also Eva, the sister of Fabian got wind of the project. As a Buell rider with a passion for rings, she brought more ideas into the XR, so that it should become a complete family project. First the 2010 Sporty was disassembled down to engine and frame and measured. Together they set to work to design a new, 3-piece aluminum swingarm that looks better than the original and is also more stable. Meanwhile, they made two new spoked wheels in 5.5 x 17 for the rear and 3.5 x 17 for the front to give the XR a certain classic style. For the test rides and for show purposes they mounted a set of Pirelli slicks without street legal, simply because it fits the style and yes it looks pretty cool. The rest, however, is as one is used to at Müller, again "Street Legal" and serves as a template for a series production. So a special XR triple clamp was milled , on which now sit superbike stub handlebars , which fit perfectly to the style of the XR. The dip tubes remained standard, only as damping the old fox installed other damper inserts that respond better. In order to be able to continue using the original fittings, a new speedometer holder was made which now, as befits a race bike, positions the rev counter exactly in the rider's field of vision and accommodates all the indicator lights. Up to this point, the father was allowed to have his say and then the secret phase of the project began in the Müller house. Fabian ordered a Storz rear end , similar to the one used on his father's racing bike, and a modern Race Spirits exhaust system , which is very close to the old Cup system. The front fender was modified and a Müller 6-piston brake was installed at the rear. In the front, Fabian says there was not enough time to design new brackets for a Müller brake, so they had to make do with the new Müller brake discs and original calipers. A V-Rod headlight and new mounts were added to the front, an R&R taillight to the rear, and because the bike is supposed to be street legal, a set of small turn signals were added to the front and rear. Until the end, the paintwork was kept secret and the number plates with the old starting number 28 were hidden from Werner Müller . When the bike with the classic check pattern, the Müller logo and the number 28 was presented at a family party, even the old warhorse Werner's knees went weak and he knew that he had made the right decision to bring his son into the company and to give him free rein with the new projects. The only thing the bike still has to survive is the ultimate driving test by daughter Eva. We were there for that and after a few adjustments to the White Power shocks , Eva was also very happy with the result of the "28" project. She hammered the Sporty around the corners so hard it made the old man dizzy and he just remarked dryly, "If I had been that light, I would have gone just as fast." When asked how time-consuming such a conversion is, Fabian replied: "Once you have designed the parts and the data is in the computer, production is a routine job, just like everything else we produce. Such a conversion is then also relatively fast to complete and you make a real racer out of the XR. But we were extremely busy for 6 weeks because every part had to be redeveloped and partly hidden from dad." When looking at this Sporty, one thing is clear, such a Sporty Cup would have to come back.
